Mate, They're still worth $5-10 each. It seems as though the only HW's worth any money are original Redlines, MOSC Real Riders from the 80's, Collectors' Club limited editions & Convention Exclusives (we're talking anything with limited numbers).
Put it this way - If you're collecting HW's as an investment, You're wasting your money. For me, HW's are just a side-collection for when there's nothing I want on the TF-front. That's what I tell myself anyway...

For me, it's the same as you. Just getting those when I don't buy TFs.
If they're still worth the same, I'd get those as they are still affordable.
