I skim-read this as "can you crap a better character than Drift?"

In which case, yes.

And the problem with Drift is that he was created at all. It's not that we should all be creating our own G1 characters, it's that unfleshed-out G1 characters should always be used before new Mary-Sue/Gary-Stus.
