Would you buy a reissue Fortress Maximus?

If TakaraTOMY were to reissue Fortress Maximus, I estimate the retail price to be at about 16896JPY ($214).

This is based on:
G1 Metroflex sold in Japan for 4980JPY ($63) and Encore Metroflex retailed for 7350JPY ($93) -- and increase of about 32%. G1 Fortress Maximus sold in Japan for 12800JPY ($162) and 32% of that is 4096JPY ($52) -- so at a similar rate I estimate that an Encore Fortress Maximus would sell for 16896JPY ($214).

Even with the cost of postage (which would make it about $300) I think it's totally worth it for a complete and legit Fortress Maximus (even moreso if it comes with the Master Sword). I'd much rather pay this than for a knockoff.

I've just messaged a US contact of mine who has contacts with Hasbro USA to see what they think about reissuing Fortress Maximus, and I'm going to call TakaraTOMY myself during the upcoming school holidays in early July and have a talk to them about the idea. In the meantime I'm seeing how much interest people have in the possibility of giving us a legit Fortress Maximus reissue.

Feel free to repeat this poll on other TF boards -- the more interest we can generate the better.

Hasbro US can't reissue it for safety reasons as I understand. I read somewhere recently that either it wouldn't survive the modern drop test or is capable of seriously injuring an infant if it tips over on them.

I'd buy one for a cheaper alternative to complete my one. I can't seem to afford the guns and little things that I am missing. Got Spike though

Price would be a determining factor. If it was around 300 bucks (including shipping), I would prob have to pass. It's not worth that much too me.

I chose undecided as opposed to no for the reason most likely not, but maybe if it was Grand maximus.

I'd rather see scorponok, trypticon and other combiner 86/87 sets first. And definitely Piranacon.

Sharky is right. (gah, but which parent with a good amount of reasonable foreseeability would let their kid play with a toy the size of Fort Max unsupervised?)

That's the reason why it's very unlikely that Takara will reissue Fort Max. I think the Japanese market is probably too small to justify releasing it since it can't be exported to the US which I suppose is the place where demand is going to be highest in terms of numbers. I think though that a toy the size of Fort Max is still acceptable in many Asian countries where there is also a TF following

With that being said, and on the assumption that:
(i) the cost of getting one is around $300;
(ii) it comes with all its original US release parts (no Master Sword is okay); and
(iii) its released in a US style G1 box or Jap style G1 box like most Encores are,
I'd get 4-5 of these.

I'll transform them into city mode put them in a big room with the 4 Metroplexs, 3 Omega Supremes, 2 Gadeps, 3 Scorponoks and 2 Trypticons, which I have for this specific purpose, and call it transformer city. This is something I have been planning for years, which is why I have that many of the above, and also 4 Fort Max molds and counting, more Fort Maxes would be sweet because I think it has the best colour scheme among all the releases.

For myself personally I say no, but for the public in general who may have difficulties obtaining the original I say maybe. I have been able to justify buying an incomplete Fort Max recently on the grounds that the price was reasonable and it is now a fixer-upper-type project for me. Not everyone is willing to do this and this is where a reissue would come in handy.

An Encore reissue would open up the possibility of an Ehobby Grand Max and I would most certainly go for that.
