If they do it smart, it can be good. If they use it as small highlights rather than large moving pieces, it can work well.

+1 Loved it when Hasbro brought back the rub signs when Classics first came out.

I suppose we could order some from Reprolabels and put rub signs on all of our Transformers Who's with me?

My TM2 Scourge and Ramulus are suffering terrible chrome cancer. It might be fine for a display thing, but as a toy, I don't think it really works.

It works in small doses but not for large surfaces like in those toys.

Yeh, as you said Kup, small highlights. Yet without it, we wouldn't have the majesty of figures like Depth Charge and Rampage.

From memory Hasbro said they had devised a new method of chrome application, one that would hopefully not lead to the dreaded cosmic rust.

Recon Ravage was the test subject for this new method and whether it could withstand play/whether it looked good.

But, as others have said, chrome really only looks good when it's used to subtley highlight something (eg: RiD Ultra Magnus's grill/Omega Prime's chest) rather than as a major design feature of the toy (eg: TM2 Scourge) otherwise all our TFs will come out looking like 1960s/70s Cadillacs.

It still makes me mighty nervous on Recon Ravage. I've not really played with that figure, just put it on display.
