    Default Buying TF Advice Thread

Okay, so here's how this thread works.

Say if you are on a Transformers budget and given that so many new Toys are coming out at the same time it's impossible to buy them all at once. So which ones do you buy? Because if you buy one, you might never see the other one again.

I would say Stratosphere might be the highest priority because he seems rarer to find. But you never know they might do a repaint. The new scouts will be around and easy to find for some time, scouts always seem to be in stock.

You have the option to just get them all. Get the ones you want to play most for now - pay for em in full and the rest I say put em on laybuy, all of em you can find that way you wont miss out and you wont be so strapped for cash as well. with the lay buy til Xmas you got a whole lot of weeks to put cash payments in. That's what I do, laybuy is your friend , use and abuse it.
Basically its just the same anyways coz your dilemma was getting some and might end up missing the rest coz they dissapear until you can save up, well there you go, get em all and pay for it slowly ( its til Xmas dude) that way you DONT miss out. win win.

Yeah I'm thinking Statosphere too because I only know of two places where I can get him.

That is actually a good idea. I will look into it. Thanks Liege!

Get Ransack/Divebomb, Stratosphere and Devastator. They're all good toys and the others will be shelfwarming for a long time to come.

I wouldn't recommend getting Combiner Class Devastator if you're on a budget. It's a seriously underwhelming toy and inferior value for money compared to the Legends set when you consider:
+ It only has 6 Constructicons whereas the Legends set has 7.
+ None of the Constructicons can transform to robot mode.
+ The overall design of the Constructicons aren't that great. The vehicle modes are fairly ordinary and the engineering in them isn't much to write about either. Some of them have a similar level of engineering as $2 Happy Meal Transformers, I kid you not.

But having said that the Kmart Toy Sale catalogue lists him at $87 which is the cheapest I've seen. But this toy is a big shelf-warmer... you could wait longer and see if it gets any cheaper. I doubt it would get sold out any time soon. And in a few years you'd probably find some people selling them loose at even cheaper prices. I dunno... other than the size it's not that a great a toy. The NOM! NOM! gimmick gets old fast and the electronics doesn't add much.

Especially considering that you have Legends Devastator, I'd rather focus my money on getting new characters if I were you.

Get Ransack or Divebomb. That mold is great.

Think hard about Supreme Devvy. Read some reviews. Regardless of whether its on sale or not, it's still a big expensive toy.

Yeah I've been doing a lot of research into Supreme Devvy. Because I'm a movie toy collector there's that one part of me that wants it, but at the same time I know it's a very expensive, space-costly toy. I think Gok has a good point, that the toy will still be shelf-warming even after the $87 sale prices.

just complete your ROTF series first but leave Supreme Devvy out first as there will be shelf-warmers for awhile. then get your HftD figures if you can still afford
