    36+ hours have elapsed. Awww...

The correct answer was #3, Fujian (China). Although Karate came from Okinawa, it was derived from Kung Fu from the Fujian province of China which is where the Sanchin form/stance originates from and is commonly used in Fujian Kung Fu styles such as Five Ancestors Fist (Wuzuquan). There's an obscure style of Fujian Kung Fu called Goroquan which is written in the same Kanji as "Gojuken" - and of course, Goju is one of the most well known styles of Okinawan Karate.

Video: Wuzu Sanchiem form - you can see the similarities to Karate's Sanchin Kata. They even do the sharp breathing (although the music in the first video means you can't hear it but if you watch the guy's mouth you can see him doing it).

#1 Shaolin (China) is wrong. The one Japanese martial art that attempted to mimic Shaolin Kung Fu is Shorinji Kempo, although in reality they're two entirely different martial arts. Unlike the Okinawans who established links with the Fujian province and actually had like an exchange programme where they would directly trade knowledge, the Japanese monks relied on second hand information - images copied from fresco paintings on the Shaolin temple walls. And like Chinese whispers, the information became altered hence why Kempo doesn't really look anything like Shaolin Kung Fu at all.

Cornwall (England) is the birthplace of the forbidden Cornish & Lancastrian martial art of Ecky-Thump.

    New question!

Q: In architecture, what distinguishes a flying buttress?
    a. semi-arches with the elevated end of the arch supports the wall and the lower end of the arch is mounted on foundations, or on pillars or other flying buttresses.
    b. supports walls near a corner but set back from it
    c. buttresses support walls at corners but are built diagonally out of the corner of the wall, so forming a 135° angle between the buttress and each wall
    d. buttresses support two walls as they meet at a corner by making some length of both walls at the corner thicker than the remainder of the wall
