Question for you - are you comparing it (the blu-ray version) to the original DVD release that came out in '03, or the 2-disc special edition which came in the letterbox format? Just curious.

Ahhh... I thought so. Has anyone seen the blu-ray and letterbox (Madman) release side-by-side to make an accurate comparison between the two? I've heard the difference is negligible.

I see a few recommendations for The Dark Knight and slightly fewer for Batman Begins.

When I was JB Hifi the other day they had a bundle of the PS3 remote control and those two movies on BluRay for just $50. Given it was stacked next to the remote which sells for $40 it seemed a really good deal, but I'm not sure I'm in a dire need of a remote control just yet.

I didn't like Batman Begins as much as I loved Dark Knight, I have both movies on DVD and I'd just spent a lot of money on the PS3 console so I didn't buy it, but I may end up going back for it.

You don't need a remote at all. Your PS3 controller functions perfectly as a remote for Blu-ray and DVD.

That's another reason I didn't buy the pack, but if I was going to get the two Bat-movies that's the way to get them and get the remote for free.

Sunshine, Akira and Predator are absolutely essential imo. You haven't heard the best in HD audio until you've listened to the Japanese TrueHD track on the Akira BD. Mind = blown.
