That's nothing compared to Nightscream and the infamous Supreme Cheetor. Air Attack Optimus Primal is also huge, but is actually a decent toy - i.e.: the figure justifies its price point and size, whereas Nightscream and Supreme Cheetor are oversized Megas/Deluxes (IMO the best BM Cheetor toy was the Deluxe Night Slash Cheetor ;p)

Yeh, I remember mucking around with a mtes supreme cheetor and its quite an un-gainly figure thats fer sure!

What struck me as most odd though for BM Rattrap was that the show had him so small, yet the figure is larger than Primal (mega vs delx). I know that they don't worry about scale, but I think if a less complex deluxe figure was made it would have been a much better toy. Just seems a little silly really.

Yeah, the scale is completely off in Beast Machines.

Even though Transformers has never had a consistent scale (e.g.: Blaster is taller than Devastator) the scale has never been too grossly off scale - they're reasonably close enough for people to suspend disbelief and see them as being approximately the same scale.

For example, you can see in this pic that although Deluxe Bonecrusher is much smaller than Leader Class Optimus Prime, they're close enough that they can still "visually interact" with each other...

The problem with Beast Machines is that some of the figures are so greatly off-scale that it becomes much harder to suspend disbelief and visually perceive them as being approximately within scale to each other.

Take a look at Nightscream on the back left there! He's towering over most of those Maximals yet in the show he appears to be Basic sized! Phwoar!

Part of the problem with the way that the BM TFs look in the show, I reckon, is that Hasbro - in a rush to get the show out at the same time as the toys - only gave Mainframe animators conceptual sketches of the toys, long before the toys were completed. Just a personal theory of mine - we do know that the show was made very quickly. In North America it actually aired before the toys hit shelves, which had never happened before.

    Goody.

Looks pretty good, so if I end up with a premium Ironhide, I can reprolabel the standard one into Trailbreaker....
