    Default EMS Question?

    Hey guys,

new to the whole importing thing (stupid questions ahoy!)

I recently ordered Tokyo Toy Show 2010 Exclusive - Dreadwind & Smokescreen, via Robot kingdom i got it sent EMS.

When i arrived home i found my package at the door, although i was excited to see it. I was some what disturbed by the fact that it could have been sitting there all day in the rain, been pinched (you get the idea)

Is this normal procedure? how would i go about getting it delivered to a more secure place? Po Box maybe?

any help would be appreciated thanks

All my mail goes to a PO Box and I pay around $80 a year and I think its the bloody brilliant. Any mail I have is secure and boxes are held for me until I am ready to pick up. And also you can get the SMS message to say if you have mail to pick up for a small fee.

But its interesting that they didn't get you to pick up at the Post Office if you were not at your house to drop off. I thought with EMS you have to sign for the item when you pick up.

EMS is usually signed for, since it's trackable. You have a lazy delivery contractor, methinks.

yeah its supposed to be signed for.

if they leave it there they run the risk of being liable for theft/damages which is really stupid on their part.

I would have a look at the tracking # and see when it was signed for etc etc. If the delivery person signed it at your place, then they are also forging your signature or something like that.

I'd be inclined to have a whinge to the post office if it was me...
