as far as I know, PS3 isnt region coded so you can play games from any country on any PS3 (the same cant be said for PS2, XBox 360, Wii etc)

"sometimes the things you see might not be real and the things that are real you might not see"
the games will play fine, the only potential hang up is if your PS3 is hooked up to a really old TV. Also note that DLC is usually region locked.
You have an AUS PS3, yes? If so be careful with the blu-ray, japan are region A, we are region B, so you'll want to check import Blus on a disk by disk basis.
Games work fine. I have 1 so far and would be happy to get some more, if I could find another that takes my fancy. DLC is region coded, but it is easy enough to set up another 'user' and make a japanese PSN account. That's what I have done. And successfully installed some free addon stuff. To buy you will need a JPN PSN card thing.
Blurays are region coded, so if you have a JP Bluray and an Aus PS3, it won't play. Which sucks ass so bad. I cant even work out a way to unlock the dvd playing of the ps3. NUTS!

OK, so is a an action title like Another Century Episode worth owning if one doesn't know the JP language?![]()
If its good and you like Gundams, then yes I guess so. You might have to guess the objective of some levels. Any gameplay footage of the PS3 version anywhere? I like me some big robot fighting and thought SEED vs ZAFT a not too shabby game.
I got some hankerin' for some robot spankerin'
I have this cool Macross game for my PS2 which I picked up when I first went to Japan and on the first level, I couldn't work out the objective. Took me years to work it out.
Discovered that you had to rescue this pod thing. Probelem is every time you got close to it, it would fly away. I kept getting near, but to no avail. Eventualy I found out you just had to do you best and habg near it for a bit. Luckily the game had 2 story modes to go through and the other had objectives like 'shoot everyhing' etc etc.
