Planning a Custom Botcon Pyro Head

This is a Proof of Concept before making a proper Pyro head for Botcon Spark out of that awful 'Why so Serious' City Commander head which can change to a Prime face. The idea came from Lord_Zed after he saw the crappy head and I mentioned that I didn't know what to do with it as it was too crap.

Head without any changes so it's a real photo without digibash



Concept 1:

Head with Antennas shorten (for transformation) and Pyro face plate ridges - Should look better once done in Real life. The simplest kitbash.



Concept 2:

Painted purple head like the Botcon toy and sharpened antennas and altered face plate (flat front like LSOTW Pyro)



Concept 3:

Same as above but with red eyes.



What do you guys think? I am leaning more towards Concept 1 but I am not sure yet.

Edit: Having a proper look, the digibashes suck too much to be good examples. They are not very good for demonstrating the concepts

Kup, if I had to choose I'd pick concept 2. The flattened mouth plate looks similar but different to Optimus' which I like. I really don't like the antennae though could they be replaced?

Yeah I am beginning to to lean towards that concept too. I will probably need to sand the faceplate flat and then use some putty to make it work.

I'd go for pink eyes.

Concept 2 is nice, better then 1. I like the idea of pink eyes but the picture doesn't do it justice. Maybe smaller pink eyes or a pink 'band' eye like grimlock

I have already begun to work on it based on a mixture of Concept 1 & 2 (Blue helmet, flat face plate with ridges). So far it's turning out better than I thought but there is still a lot of work ahead. Re-shaping the Antennas was super hard but sanding the face plate flat was relatively easy. I can predict however that adding the ridges will be a challenge. I also have to adapt the head to the ball socket of the base toy - That has proven hard but I think that I have thought of a way to do it.
