I gotta say that I have not heard of or seen a Skids in 1984 box. Not that it can't exist in the wacky world of Transformers, but I just have not seen or heard of one...

There is some evidence to support that he was released at the tail-end of '84 so it may be possible, but like you HD, I have never seen one.
I don't suppose you could provided another pic of the copyright info on the back of the box could you talyn8Your pic in the auction chops this off.

I'm going to check my skids box tonight! I think its more a transitional issue with box going from 84 > 85. Just like the later '84 ones where the find the hidden rubsign not on the instructions but a seperate piece of paper.
Oh I think the dinos also had '84 boxes the price for those MISB could pay my rent for a month!
