very long story.
got the nickname osty in primary school (even longer story) then while watching behind the news in school there was a story on "aussie beef" getting sold to the japanese.......their advert in japan sounded like "osty beef" and well......got called that for a while and has been my internet handle since i have had the internet haha.

so for 20 years ive been called Osty....only people who call me by my real name is my family

Many of my mates have had the same sort of thing happen to them!

Their nicknames have absolutely no baring on their actual names and it is rare to ever hear their actual names, lol.

Me?, I just got my last name for a nickname - Hursty.

That is a pretty interesting genesis to the Net Handle and Nickname though Osty, it's pretty cool IMO.

Yeah, only my family and workmates call me by my mundane name. Most folks call me "Gok" or "Goki" IRL.
