Arrow KO & unauthorised TFs guides

A new addition to the TFW2005 resources section are pages on Knockoffs and Unauthorised toys and accessories. They also have this page of Knockoffs and altered Knockoffs.

This is an additional resource to the existing high end TFs website and the Transformers Variants website.

TFWiki has (external) links to other sources as well.

Just came across the Toyhell site while trying to find out if a mis-coloured Optimal Optimus (complete with fully chromed parts) was some limited variant I did not know about. (turns out it was a KO... but damn, if the colours were accurate, the fully chromed parts would have made it difficult to know it was a fake)

Anyway, looking through their loooong list of fakes and remakes, I actually felt sick, realising that there are so many Knock Offs out there of our beloved franchise.
The thing that made me most sick was seeing items described as "This is definitely one to pick up for the true collector!" - really? A *true* collector of Transformers would NOT be wanting fake toys in their collection if they are able to buy the real thing.

At least there are lots of photos to refer to as a guide, while the site exists that is.
Fortunately the site appears to have ceased trading, as the most recent regular items are from 2009, with a few exclusives added up until mid-2012. Even their (linked) ebay page hasn't been selling anything in months... so posting up these links as a possible additional archive/reference, shouldn't be promoting that site for purchasing items, as I wouldn't want people risking their money on an online store that looks to have stopped trading.

Surely he meant a "true collector" of... knock offs, right? :P

    Wow just Wow

So much Sacrilege on one site...

After the initial shock, I managed to get a laugh out of some of the ludicrous statements made on certain toys <cough> plastic objects <cough>

One in particular was "A very rare Movie version of unproduced Transformers Animated character Wasp. Very rare! Only one in stock!"

Bwah! ha!ha!ha! It is an oversized legends Skids with a Bumblebee head

It does indeed look like a great copy (compared with the rest), but I'd have to disagree with it being an "excellent toy".
