DOTM Toy Anticipation Discussion

Post away what you think of this upcoming toyline.

I'm kind of on the disappointed side - not so because of the appearance of the toys, but moreso because of their current sizes. It's inconsistent with the last 2 movies. I was hoping for a new Leader Class Megatron or Optimus and The Purple Tank guy but they're all voyagers. I guess I can wait and hope for Leader releases later. I'm not so fussed with the Dreads, Bumblebee or even Barricade.

Besides Shockwave, everything so far is 'meh'

Having said that though, unless Hasbro releases a whole pile of Classicverse toys, I'll probably end up buying some of the DOTM toys only because I've got nothing else to buy.

So far Shockwave and Dreads and some of those piloted bots.... ubt still subject to if it looks good in person kinda thing before I buy....

Only Shockwave has interested me. I am keen to get better looks at the wreckers toys as well. Nothing else has me excited yet.

Thus far I'm liking the new Ironhide, Shockwave, the green Wrecker (we've seen the deluxe robot mode - looks kind of like a green movie-ised Cybertron Crosswise), Megatron, and Dread. Especially Dread - he looks like absolute evil (in a good way) and I can dig the predator style dreadlocks.

I'm not a fan of the legends size class so I'm not anticipating them, I never really bought into the HA craze (the only good one is Jazz imo) so I don't really care about those. Starscream (deluxe) looks very underwhelming, even transformed properly. Don't even get me started on voyager Optimus.

I want to see more of Barricade before I make my mind up - I've got both the first run 2007 deluxe and the HA so I'm probably not going to get the new one unless they do something new and radical with the transformation.

My anticipation is low. I haven't liked any of the new versions of old characters i've seen. I was hoping that because ROTF's Leader Class Prime was Lightyears ahead of the first movie's Leader Class Prime the same would happen with DOTM. I haven't seen the version that comes with the trailer yet and really, really hoping it's just Battle Blades Prime with a trailer as the Mechtech voyager looks like garbage.

I actually like the dirft towards a smaller scale, I just don't like toys bigger than Voyagers for the most part, So Shockwave and poncho megs look pretty interesting. The wrecker cars and Crankcase seem ok, but i'm a bit over yet more carbots. Some of the HA seems ok. I for one do not see the point in the playsets though, they were great when I was a kid to you know..play with, but now well it's more about appreciation of the toy, not seeing the appeal of these.

Anyway I don't think the line is looking any better or worse than previous movie lines, its your usual mix of gems, lemons and chaff.
