I got my second run MP36 from RK late last year. The second run does seem like a darker shade of grey than the first run.
This may be of help for anyone concerned about the legitimacy of their MegatronsQuickest way to tell right away, the corrugated cardboard on Takara goes vertical, the KO is horizontal.
At least I'm hoping the fakers haven't fixed this identifier since it's a good way to tell quickly if you have a fake or real item right off the bat.I've not seen this version, do you have pictures/links?

Another good identifier is the batch number, on the official the number is stamped, on the KO it is cut in.

Oh wow I completely missed noticing that in the bits and bots video (just checked and yep his video shows the autobot logo on the side too), but that's ok he said the sides and back were exactly the same lol, so at least I'm not alone in missing the obvious. Thanks for pointing that out.
Yeah so I just double checked everything on my HK reissue I got from RK last year. Going purely off photos and descriptions because I didn't get the first run (thank you PC) the box and figure do seem a darker shade than on the original run, more like the KO. But everything else about it matches the first run official product.
It's one of those running changes you just wonder why they did it.
^...and i always believed reissues normally fixes issues with the first ones but as we all know with Takara and MPs, reissue just means they wanna make more monies. This 2nd reissue might have more production volume that there are plenty of flaws just in the paint section
