Due to family commitments we are going Saturday instead of Sunday. Can’t wait to see all the massive mark ups on the new avengers and Star Wars sets, Penrith will surely be raised tonight/tomorrow as they all set up!

It’s a fantastic show and supports a worthy cause. If you’re not too far away and have two hours spare I recommend dropping in either day. It’s not as grand as it was at town hall but it’s definitely the biggest show in the state and has some marvellously clever builders.

‪That Lego X-Wing I’ve been deliberating about for ages is now just $100 at Myer. I’m thinking I’ll add it to my pile. Just wish I could find more photos of it assembled alongside the recent TIE‬ Anyone got both and can help?

It’s fairly common for Lego sets to have a few small extra pieces right?

I have just built the TIE Fighter (which was the first new set I’ve had in 30 years!) and there’s a few little bits that I think are extras rather than bits I missed on assembly.

(The third missile at least is meant to be there)

Always a few extra small bits. Have a few freezer bags full of them.

Some sets have a ridiculous amount of extra pieces (not complaining). The bigger the set, the more extra pieces you will end up with.

My rule of thumb is that if it larger than a 1x1 stud/tile then I have a hunt to see if I missed it. I have on a few occasions been lucky enough to end up with larger extra pieces, including extra 6x8 plates, minifig torsos or 2x4 bricks!

Lego is putting out a set for Speed Champions that is a redeco of an existing set, the 1974 Porsche 911 Turbo. Does Lego do straight redecos often?

    Technically every minifigure is a redeco/remould :P

It is pretty rare for Lego to do a straight redeco. They usually do redo a vehicle in a new set has different, more updated, parts. Most commonly with the movie licenses, like Star Wars.
Don't get me wrong, it does happen, but I can only think of a few instances.
Like some of the old trains they released in multiple colours all in the same year. Or there was a soccer bus set

If they did one in Jazz colours I'd buy it.
The white and black one they have available now, I'd consider if I could get decals for it.

If they did that big Technic Porsche in Jazz Colours I'd probably get that too.
