In 1985, I won a limited edition gold Baron Von Joy in a competition. He was awesome and there were only ever 50 of them in the world, I believe. So I probably shouldn't have sold him for next-to-nothing in a nineties garage sale.![]()
I had heaps as a kid. I loved them, but I preferred my Transformers. Haven't really experienced them since then. Wouldn't mind checking out a few now, but I need nothing new to collect.
I really like the way the Gobots are meant to be organic. It's an interesting backstory and I still have a few lying around.

Great pics
Yeah... totally different to Transformers. I love em!
Here are some pics of my collection...
Mainly Guardians
Guardians + Command Centre
Renegades
Cy-Kill at his throne on Thruster, with Fitor
The rest of my Super GoBots
Rocklords... including the rare Solitaire
I do like the ones that transform into vehicles TF's haven't tried or done well (Badboy), and the wierd monster ones and Rocklords.
Though the regular car and truck Gobots are of little interst to me.
Cybernetic to be precise. They have organic brains but otherwise their bodies are entirely mechanical. Although I guess this means that unlike Transformers, once a GoBot is dead there's no way they'd ever come back to life.Originally Posted by Tiby

I guess the surviving GoBots living in the Transformers universe must feel a lot like the Vulcans in Star Trek after Nero destroyed their world. I can imagine Road Ranger saying something like, "I am now a member of an endangered species."Maybe that's why Bug Bite's death was so suggestive, whereas usually in Transformers we often see TFs being massacred, torn apart, blown to bits etc. - if we ever saw Classics Megatron blowing off Bug Bite's head we'd probably see his organic brain getting splattered.

F***ing awesome Robzy! Nice collection!
Thanks for those pics robzy.
Its funny I never appreciated these guys as a kid but now I love looking at pics of them, so nostalgic. Anyone ever get gobots as b'day gifts because aunts and uncles thought they were 'the same thing' as TF's?
If any of the originals were re-issued encore style I'd buy for sure.
