Paul, my HK toy shop map http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msa=0...,0.010289&z=17

The 5th floor of the same building as Hobbybase has a shop selling lots of vintage Transformers.

I've no interest in DOTM toys, so can't help you out there.

Oh cool. That's very helpful. I'm not sure I'll find much new DOTM stuff but I have already seen a Beast Wars toy I'm going back for.

If you want Beast Wars stuff, go to level 16, No. 3 Sugar Street at Causeway Bay. They have lots of MIB, MOSC, MISB Beast Wars stuff stashed at 1 corner and I believe the prices are cheap.

(it's on my map now, I just added the tag).

Just created a page dedicated to toy shop locations, here.

    Will be updating further.

For the conversion, I used to calculate as 100 HKD = 15 AUD. Was mentally easier for me. Now though, that would be 100 HKD = 12 AUD. Don't you have a whizzbang iPhone? When I was there I got a great prepaid sim with data... not that you need live conversion, but Google Maps was very handy.

I liked In's Point the most, but I was mostly in the market for Henkei, Alternity and Disney... basically stuff you can't get in Oz.

Despite a late start, I managed to get to a lot of the shops on the list today although a couple were closed. The map is very helpful HD.

I did use my phone's calculator a lot (my iPhone isn't network unlocked, I ran out of time before I left home to do it). With USD, Pounds and Euros, the AUD was so close it was never an issue. I spent over $1300 HKD on TFs today but when I convert it and it's just $160 I feel relieved.

I ended up picking up a Japanese exclusive, some Japanese Animated, and a couple of DOTM toys much cheaper than at Australian retail. There's a couple more things I'm still considering and may go back for, all of which missed an AU release.

I'm kind of bugged that Hatchet has been released but has sold out everywhere. Just keep seeing the "Battle Steel" Prime repaint from the same wave.

It definitely pays to shop around. I saved $110HKD on one DOTM leader by not buying it at the first store I saw it at, but rather the fourth.

One store had two Japanese Fort Max boxes which looked fairly tempting but would probably drain my funds.

locate the NORMAL (not 100hkd) jusco and Toys R Us... i usually head down to those departmental stores too.

Inn's point is the place i'll go though and did you try CTMA's (cant remember) 11th or 12th floor?

At CMTA I went to basement, 1st and 2nd floors (following HD's guide). Very close to hotel so might have a look at those other floors tomorrow.

I am going back to Sino Centre tomorrow as the fifth floor shop was closed today when I visited. And I think there's something I want to buy at HobbyBase.

I'm still on Europe time so it doesn't feel late to me - and I'm
busy opening the stuff I got today
