Similar to Trent's and Demonac's story, this happened at our local church last year but it was the aircon pipes which they took that were made of copper. It's a widespread racket that police are fully aware of. Problem is, they don't have the forces available to patrol schools and churches after hours and there's no one to call it in until the next day.

i agree. also the kids are being taught their rights instead of what happens when you commit a crime. i've seen some really really bad parents here. they will flat out deny that their kid is a little turd even if their caught red handed but i also believe that a lot of parents are letting school raise their kids too. the parents of the crim's down the road ain't fit to raise a tomato plant. i've walked passed or drive by and their either drunk or sniffing paint in the yard(they live on a corner block with a low fence so you get to see everything) child services come but they don't seem to do anything. the kids would be better(maybe) in a foster home where they are well looked after and not seen as a pay check.

a couple of years ago they stole a whole trailer(45 footer) of copper wire. it wasn't that thin wire either. it was high voltage stuff.

This is why I keep a (fake, blunt) samurai sword next to my bed that if someone decides to break into my house while I'm in bed, they are gonna wish they hadn't.

i keep a few axe handles hidden around the house. i caught 1 of them once breaking into my truck but i didn't call the cops, just belted him a few times and sent him home.. no more trouble after that. a lot of people are force to do that up here as the judges and the law are stacked against us.

Hey, is it just me or would this make an interesting topic - what weapons do you keep next to your bed? (I have some throwing knives and a baton).

i keep a axe handle(cause it's the right size and weight) and i use to have a samuri sword(it was sharpened) but i got rid of it when the youngest started to crawl. i know of a few mates that keep their rifle safes next to their bed.

I have a cricket stump gauge that I will jab into some lowlifes face if they break in while I am there. Touchwood I will never have to do that!

Its common for copper thieves to steal outside taps put on newly built houses down here. I just hope for the day when they steal copper from the railway lines they kill themselves doing it!

when i did my high voltage course they have those slides that show you idiots doing dumb stuff. well there was someone who tried that and got zapped. he tried to get the ground cable that connects to each track. when they found him there was only a black blob left.
