    The definition of a retool/remold is a lot more broad these days too

    They would be fools not to at least recolour him as Tyrannitron

    Metroplex and Devastator were actually quite reasonably priced here. Metroplex ended up going really cheap at Target. Fortress Maximus was ridiculously expensive when it first came out in stores like Myer and it continues to shelfwarm there as well as TRU, but other stores like Big W released it at a much cheaper price and it managed to sell better there. PC's price was even cheaper than Big W's, although the toy did come out later from them (no surprise there). So there's a fair chance that Trypticon and other future Titan Class figures may come out here at decent prices.

    I personally paid...
    * Metroplex = approx. $175 (purchased from overseas incl. shipping)
    * Fortress Maximus = $160
    * Devastator = $198

    I wouldn't even pay $300 for a Titan Class let alone $350!

    ======================
    Edit: Just checked my records - I paid US$115 for Metroplex, so including shipping it was around AU$175

    Trypticon's size is even more poorly defined than Godzilla's sometimes he's huge other times he's only twice Grimlocks size. And we know the the big one in the G1 toon is shorter than the Eifel Tower, so he's well under a mile.

    The reason I say that is because the prices have been creeping up over the years on these big releases. Metroplex was released over here for $120 when it first showed up at Target. That was AWESOME. But Devastator was significantly more expensive at $198, and then Fort Max when first released was $250. That's getting into the realms of no longer being justifiable, when the choice isn't one toy or several toys but one toy or a video games console. And I can see Trypticon being even more expensive barring some sort of economic miracle.

    other than the stubby tail, he looks good. I honestly have no space for it so I might have to pass just like what I did for Fortress Max. I like to see how are the alt modes like.

    At least this looks way better then the Hasbro Fort Max.

    It is a really nicely detailed Trypticon. Hopefully he will be stable.

    $300 is still way WAY outside my wallet's pain threshold. The most I've ever paid for a single Transformer (with my own money) was $195 for MP11 Starscream, which included shipping. I'm usually reluctant to spend more than $100 for a single Transformer. $100-$150 would be pushing it, and it would have to be of a character I really wanted and/or be really cool.

    3-4 years ago, I was blessed enough to find Generations Metroplex at Costco for $109. Until I saw the price tag, I never imagined I'd own that Metroplex.

    Hopefully future Titan Class figures will be reasonably priced. That, or the retail stores could do what they did with the first 2-3 waves of Titans Return and release them during a big sale.

    To be fair, Titans class Metroplex at $120 was the introductory price at Target. It reverted to $149.

    It will be Fort Max pricing. If you want dirt cheap then buy PC but don't scream long wait. Those good old days you need to rely on a clearance sale if they decide to do it. I am glad I am not fussed about this guy buy I do admit he looks a lot more promising than Fort Max.
