I don't like the chrome face at all. It reminds me of the random chrome they put on the Henkei! Henkei! toys.

I totally agree, for this reason I won't be getting a version with Chrome.

285...that's a bit much for extra chrome, nice box and 12 tiny non transformable figurines.

Will give it a skip unless there's a cheaper option out there!

I doubt the SDCC version will be any cheaper than that since Hasbro is charging $150 at the convention so I grabbed the ACG-CON version off RK just before. I've gone full circle from liking him to not to now spending extra on him. I think the ACG-CON version will be more collectable than the SDCC version in the long run.

The only part of these special editions I'm interested in is the extra gun, since it's part of Metro's look. But I'm not spending an extra $100+ to get one.

that's quickly becoming how I feel about these also.

I don't know what it is, the chrome, i feel, looks better on G1 Metro than the new version. That's not a G1's better point, just an observation i made this morning while comparing the two.

This. It looks fantastic on the G1 toy and it's good for those that like having toy-accurate toys, but it just doesn't cut the mustard enough for me to justify the price.

I agree on both points - I like the black ramps in 'battle station' mode, because the black really gives the impression of a short road/runway, and the chrome face doesn't really work for me as well. Perhaps silver paint instead of chrome would have worked... perhaps.
