There can always be a better version, it just comes down to money & effort vs likely return, and I have no doubt that TT / Hasbro have done their sums.
You never know, a 3P might just step forward, they've certainly given us some surprises.

It's hard to tell when this was released, as it hasn't been reported as being found at any retail store anywhere in the world yet.
According to the most comprehensive resource online of international toy release info, Unicron has only shown up at three online stores (before PC, who probably got theirs from one of the two HK online stores).
