Default TF: DOTM The Ultimate Guide

Does anyone know if we have received this book at retail and where I might find a copy (other than online)?

I google-d around and seems like there aren't available locally yet.

If you want it now, your best bet is BK:
    http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/Tran.../9780007428687

It's cheap and their shipping is free worldwide.

Thanks JuzMel Yeah, I decided it was easier to order from the Book Depository. I'm only after it because I've got the guides from the first two films.

Haha I went there and couldn't resist myself and bought one too!

How are the guides for the first two movies? Are they any good? I don't remember seeing them, and so have probably missed them.

On the other hand, also saw the Transformers: Exodus book there. Seems like a real TF story book! Tried to look for some sample chapters to see but to no avail.

I had a flickthrough in a bookstore in the UK, and it's similar to the previous books: lots of the stock photos of the robots with small facts.

As it says on the cover this book is a guide to all three movies, so it has as many pages devoted to Blackout, Jazz and Devastator as it does to stuff in DOTM.

It sure is. Here's the review thread although it seems that few of us actually reviewed it at the time It's a similar (but not identical) story to the War for Cybertron game. Hasbro used to have the first few chapters for free on their website, but the link appears to be dead now. The sequel, Transformers: Exiles is up for preorder.

They're OK but by no means comprehensive.

    Transformers: The Movie Guide

Revenge of the Fallen: The Movie Universe

If you're undecided about getting both, I would say just go for the ROTF guide as it reprints a lot of information from the first book.

My guess then is that the DOTM guide reprints a lot of information from the first two books.

Really... I thought they would be different because the first two were published by DK and the third by HarperCollins.

As I say, I only had a quick flick through, but the character art for the first two movies' characters were all familiar (since there's not many to use), and while the book was a different shape from what I remember of the first two, the format of the page looked very similar.

It didn't seem to have that many pages devoted solely to DOTM, and still had things like a two page spread of Blackout in helicopter mode IIRC. If I'd know the book was around back here I'd have looked more closely. Who knew that while I was away all the Borders and Angus Robertson book stores would self destruct!

Probably a more ultimate guide would be to print out all DOTM relevant pages off tfwiki
