Default 2007 total acquisitions, and your best/worst.

2007 is now over (and shortly will be in WA). How did you go collection-wise? How many toys did you manage to get in this last year, a year with a record number of toys released thanks to the Movie.

1 - What was the total number obtained for the year (roughly, if you don't know)?
2 - What was your best acquisition for the year?
3 - What was your worst, or the thing you most regretted buying?
4 - Most difficult item to find?
5 - Item you never found, but still want?
6 - Were the Movie toys in general good or bad?
7 - Were the Real Gear toys in general good or bad?
8 - Were the Classics toys in general good or bad?
9 - Did you think the Japanese TFs in general this year were good or bad?
10 - Did you buy any non-transforming toys?
11 - Did you buy any officially licensed (non-toy) merchandise?
12 - Did you buy the Movie on DVD?
13 - What are you looking forward to most in 2008?

    1. Total number obtained ~650+ (transforming figures) and ~200+ (non-transforming and mechandises related to Transformers)
    2. Best acquisition - BT17 Nemesis Prime, Botcon Box 2007 set, Energon Dark Unicron (at a really cheap price)
    3. Worst acquisition - Incomplete Armada Unicron that I can't still get rid off!!
    4. Hardest to find would be Cybertron Dark Scorponok and Cybertron Scourge (Red) just to complete my series
    5. All the G1 Biggies - complete Metroplex, Scorponok, Trypticon
    6. The first few waves of Movie toys were alright but had initially never thought of buying them. The recent releases were abit disappointing with the repainted figures in the same mould
    7. Real gears are kind of a cool idea but once again, too many reuse of the same mould
    8. Classics toy - absolutely love them, hope to sleep and hug them but its impossible at the moment, cant wait for classics 2.0 to be out
    9. Jap toys - never really collect these lot as its sort of foreign language to me but i did buy BT and Movie books for the pictures. i guess in general, they are more "superior" and better valued than hasbro toys???
    10. Non-transforming plushes, movie posters, accessories, 3" Titaniums, a couple of books but apparently no comics which I might invest more this year in 2008
    11. Same as 10 i guess
    12. Yes, the Transforming and the original DVD cases only

    13. What I am hoping to achieve/get for this year?

Planning not to get the Animated Series TFs but might once again be tempted; will be focusing on completing Energon and Armada Series if possible and no side tracks besides Movies, Classics and any other SWTF figures. G1 toys is a definite but will be slow moving...

1 - 167 obtained, not including any doubles
2 - Fort Max in sheer landmark terms, but BB08 is the best toy I bought.
    3 - Movie Jazz
4 - Dreadwind - I got the BotCon one during the year fairly easily but the G1 version was very hard to secure!
    5 - Devcon!
6 - Good, but with the poor toys like Jazz, Iceotron & Starscream which were very disappointing
7 - Good, and a welcome change from cars, planes & beasts
8 - Good, although Hasbro deserve a kick in the janglies for their handling of the Seekers
9 - There wasn't all that difference in the two toylines, but MP05 & MP06 were quality
10 - Yeah, Actionmaster Optimus Prime!
11 - A movie poster, a pack of Robot Heroes
12 - Yes, regular version only
13 - Finishing off G1, only nine to go and - as at 1 January - only three left to locate with the others in the mail or awaiting payment!

    1 - probably around 200 i would guess.
2 - Raiden (spur of the moment, but how could I say no).
3 - I try to avoid regretting purchases...that what refunds are for! Although due to inflated RRP most toys represent poor value for money.
4 - Nothing that I found gave me too much trouble, although the poor distribution of toys in the last part of the year was annoying.
    5 - Fortress Maximus...yet again
6 - Not bad, although a few toys tried too hard, and failed.
7 - These were pretty sweet.
8 - Yea, out of the original molds, can't recall any duds.
9 - Meh, Not too much difference, although I did get their BBee.
10 - Not for me, but bought the big rig for my nephew
11 - The BBee shopping bag (I was experiencing a major drought!)
    12 - It's on the way as I type
13 - Getting those last few G1 toys (2 in the mail, 2 on ebay, 1 being negotiated).

    1 - 63
    2 - Same as dirge.
3 - TRU reissue Soundwave. Ended up selling that set.
    4 - F-1 Powerdasher
    5 - Dropkick
    6 - Good
    7 - Good
    8 - Good
9 - As others have said, not much difference between the figures released in both markets this year, but overall good.
10 - Just the voice changer helmet. Got 2 movie Robot Heroes as a gift.
11 - Yes. Bought the scrap book, some pens and cards. Got the towel as a gift.
    12 - Yes
13 - Classics 2 and TF Animated - and, yeah, getting closer to finishing G1. I got maybe 100 or so left? Getting reissue Sky Lynx will complete my cartoon Seasons 1-3 collection.

Hey, grass is always greener elsewhere, isn't it I only got 40 or so, but very happy with all of them because they were mostly classics and alts - two kind of transformers I really liked

    2 - Best: MP Starscream
3 - Worst: Classics Ramjet for having very loose hips
4 - Most difficult: Alt. Rodimus
5 - Still want: Alt Shockblast
    6 - Movie toys: Couldn't afford 'em
7 - Real Gear toys: Good. In general.
8 - Classics toys: Deluxe toys and above all great with one or two exceptions but none truly bad!
9 - Japanese TFs: Not sure, but the discontinuation of alts and minimal classics appearing seems a loss?
10 - Non-transforming toys: A viewmaster, so my niece would stop using my original one
11 - Officially licensed merchandise: TF Monopoly and chess
12 - Buy the Movie: No. I rarely buy movies at all though.
13 - In 2008: More new Transformers animated! The first season is off to a decent start...

(O_O) You've acquired 700 Transformers in the last 12 months?!? On average that's nearly 2 (1.92 to be precise) Transformers for every day of the year! *speechless*

1 - Total for the year 190 (exactly a third of my total collection!)
2 - A slow to arrive but cheap and in excellent condition Optimal Optimus
3 - Energon Landquake, really not impressed with the figure although everyone else seems to love it
4 - Micromaster Aerialbots... only saw (and got) one set in one store while I was in the US
5 - Got everything I was looking for
6 - In general good, but I don't like Automorph technology
7 - Good, and the best "role play" toys ever IMO
8 - Good, I want more classics toys
    9 - Didn't get any of 2007's Japanese toys
10 - Non-transforming? Replicas, some titaniums, all the Robot Heroes (love those)
    11 - I got some movie stationery
    12 - I got the 2-disc DVD version
13 - Deluxe Animated Bumblebee - loved the character in the first episode

Aside from Fortress Maximus, my other G1 landmarks were F-1 Powerdasher and Camshaft - completing my Omnibot and Powerdasher collections! (now the only G1 mail-away I don't have is, that's right, effing Time Warrior!!)
