Default Toy Review - Masterpiece Clampdown

Mods: please merge this thread with an existing thread if there is one (I did search for it but couldn't find one).

    Series - Masterpiece
    Sub-line - N/A
    Size/class - N/A
New/remould/redeco - redeco of MP Red Alert (which is a redeco of MP Lambor)
    Wave - MP-14C
Released here - not here (TakaraTOMY Mall exclusive, 26/12/2015)
    Approximate Retail Price - 7992JPY (about AU$100)
    Approximate Size - 16cm
    Allegiance - Autobot
    Alt-mode - Lamborghini Countach
    Main Features/Gimmicks - Licensed Lamborghini, pile-drivers
Main Colours - Red, white, black

See MP Lambor and Red Alert threads for comments about the original/core mould.

They say that a picture tells a thousand words, so... here ya go!

    Thoughts

I think we're all familiar with the MP Lambor mould, and WYSIWYG. I'm obviously a late-comer to this game, and I'm glad that I was because this toy was pretty damn expensive when it came out. Thankfully the aftermarket price for this toy seems to have significantly dropped. I paid $35 for mine and you can still find it online at $65.

Clampdown is obviously not everyone's cup of tea. Judging from the lack of an existing review thread it seems that there aren't many others who have this toy. Or I just suck at searching for old threads. But anyway, if the toy or character interests you and you can find it at substantially less than RRP, then you might like to consider getting this toy. Don't think it's really worth the $100 RRP... that's just $40 shy of MP Sunstreaker's RRP but of course, this is the simpler MP Lambor/Alert mould which isn't really worth paying much more than $75. Recommended if you can find it cheap.

I'm actually a fan of both the deco and this repaint. Given the original e-Hobby toy has turned out to have a nasty tendency for the chest to yellow, this is a godsend!

    Eagerly waiting for Masterpiece Meister

Of all the lambos this deco is my favorite. Thank goodness i got one with very good paint apps compared to my bluestreak that looks like a KO in car mode especially looking at the Z logo
