    Default JP Sons of Cybertron exclusives

    I'm sure these have been mentioned before, but I only just realised that there were two sets of the Sons of Cybertron 2010 promo toys from TakaraTomy. One is the Animated pair of Optimus and Rodimus, and the the other is the Classics pair.

    The 2010 TT promo product lineup.
    (looks like another two slots have been added to this 'limited' series)

    Animated pair will be released in July, as a general release.
    Classics pair will be released in August, through a JP convention.

    People have noted that the Convoy figure has been renamed Optimus Prime - perhaps TT are slowly converting the existing 'Convoy' name on re-released toys, to Optimus Prime to match up with the current Movie and Animated versions.
    Some translated info here.

    Not a fan of the whole clear thing, though they look to be nice sets. (Pitty about the Classics Prime mold they used, but the other one isn't a deluxe)

    I agree with Zippo about not being a fan of clear toys, but this is a good alternative for those wanting to buy either Classics or Henkei Rodimus considering how much they are now selling for.

    I have both of these molds therefore won't be tempted in the slightest.

    Big Gallery of photos of the transparent Animated pair.

    So pretty...
    These will be mine.

    This set has just been released, and note that even though this is a limited edition 'fancy' version, it is the first release of the Animated Rodimus mould... anywhere.

    Sons of Cybertron is a nice collector set but not enough to make the effort of importing it. If something like it was ever released locally, I would get it but only at a sales price.

    I wonder if Fans Project will now make a clear Protector set

    I got mine in the post today! Man, that is some nice transparent plastic. Roddy looks cool!

    I will have to read the box to see if there is any justification for the clear!

    Their ghosts booo!!!!

    Isn't that the cheap justifications they always use?

    Transparent = Ghosts
    Black = Nemesis (evil)
    Gold = Powered up

    I don't think it's about being Ghosts. I think the clear plastic is more of a sign of other worldly distinction as in blessed with the spirit of Primus or something.
