    To me it's Sky Carry. Looking at his g1 toy TR Sentinel Prime could be redecoed into him.

    Props to the CW/UW Menasor head!

    The whole thing might not look Menasor-y enough for everbody but that face has the best sculpt i have seen since I don't know when.

    Well I just finished some new shelves so I now have dedicated MP Season 1, Season 2 and rest of MP shelves. Season 2's lineup however looks a bit underwhelming with just Smokescreen, Red Alert and Tracks.
    I have a list of all G1 characters that have been released in CHUG form. You can find it here. Please feel free to let me know if I got anything wrong so I can fix it.

    Bear in mind that in Japan, the US G1 Seasons 1 and 2 were all one series ("Fight! Super Robot Life Transformers"); so from a JP POV, it's just one really massively huge season. So from TakaraTOMY and their market's POV, there is no real impetus to prioritise either season over the other. I personally wish that they'd prioritise the first (1984) series of toys for MPs, but I understand that this bias effectively doesn't exist for the Japanese.

    Having said that, TakaraTOMY seem to pretty good at killing multiple birds with the one stone by retooling new MP moulds. e.g. Sideswipe→Red Alert; Prowl→Bluestreak→Smokescreen etc., so we've been able to get a good spread of 1st and 2nd year toys. Ratchet will be the next retool, but as far as other potentials are concerned, we'd have:
    * Trailbreaker→Hoist
    * Inferno→Grapple
    That's it as far as original G1 characters are concerned. Other retool potentials would be delving into more obscure characters, and if the shelf-warming MP Road Rage is any indication, these don't seem to sell as well as mainstream characters. Even MP Tracks is shelfwarming atm, which indicates that TakaraTOMY may be nearly exhausting their available choices of popular characters to make as MPs.

    Just played with my FOC Combaticons and made Bruticus. Can't wait to get my UW Bruticus so I can put this crappy Bruticus in storage where he belongs.

    Continued from here (rather than derailing what is meant to be a toy review thread)
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

    We all know that Groove is a massive pacifist. The G1 toy comes with guns, but they're described as being "vaporators" which he uses pinpoint accuracy in order to oxidise, freeze or corrode opponents' joints, thus physically incapacitating them rather than killing them. The Unite Warriors Deluxe figure comes with big guns too. I don't have this toy, so I have no idea what kind of guns they are. If it's anything like UW Superion, then the individual weapons aren't described; the original Japanese text just says "Silverbolt's weapon," "Air Raid's weapon" etc. I took the creative liberty of applying the G1 names to their weapons in the English adaptation. So I'm guessing here that TakaraTOMY would've done the same for Guardian/Defensor and not bothered with the individual weapon names. Also, Groove's G1 Japanese tech specs states that he comes with twin "anti-crystallisation cannons" (反結晶砲) and a photon gun (光子銃). And he boasts and impressive Firepower of 6!

    So here's the thing; what do you think a modern-day Groove might shoot from his guns, to better align with his anti-violent views? Groove may very well carry an assortment of weapons or ammunition which he may choose to use depending on the situation, and I reckon they might include:
    * Electro-stun rounds
    * EMP blaster
    * Restraining substances, such as sticky expanding goo
    * Meta grenades
    * Pain inducing substances or rounds; they would simulate the debilitating pain of something horrible like a Scraplet or Cosmic Rust infection on the opponent, but is harmless in reality. Basically the Cybertronian equivalent of Capiscum spray.

    And one would think that Groove would now be a master in Diffusion; the Cybertronian martial art which specialises in incapacitating opponents while minimising harm to them (e.g. grapples, holds, take-downs etc.). Essentially the Cybertronian equivalent of Aikido, Juujutsu, Tai Chi, Bagua, Pankration etc. And it wouldn't be surprising if he carried melee weapons too; bearing in mind that even blades don't appear to be quite as lethal against Cybertronians. But he could easily carry blunt weapons such as extendable batons etc.
