As mentioned before, I have also noticed an increase in QC issues from Takara Tomy products.

However Hasbro suffers mainly from being cheap bastards and cutting in production costs so a lot of their bad QC is mainly due to cheap paints that rub off, thin plastic that stresses or don't encase ball joints properly and other related troubles.

Hasbro also has a large degree of 'standard' bad QC similar to Takara Tomy in the sense of the odd mispainted figures and so on but I guess both companies will never get rid of such issues as long as they outsource all of their manufacturing to third party factories where is impossible to ensure the quality of every figure.

Personally I am still going for henkei as the possibility of bad QC is present in both companies but at least I know that with Takara Tomy, I will not be given a cheaply painted figure where the paint is more likely to end up in my hands after the first transformation.

Takara Tomy's troubles are with the odd figure (although this 'odd' figure is sadly increasing in occurance) while Hasbro's bad QC is clearly systematic for cost cutting.

I've got tome Taktomy issues as well.
The green micron car from GF has his head on backwards.
henkei Starscream's chest doesn't hold together in bot mode properly.
And for the really picky Henkei Bumblebee has some blue paint on his noggin' (it's quite little)

I had some dodgy shoulder trouble with my Encore Convoy, but after a quick disassemble and re-assemble, (woth some bending in between) he came good.

Hey Gok, did they send you the stuff when you were in Australia or Japan?

I have an Optimus Prime junior from the 3 pack with 2 left feet, I kept him for this oddity.

I've found that the back of Henkei Skyfire's cockpit, which is blue, doesn't fold down properly when in robot mode. It could be easily fixed with some filing. I took a look at my 2nd MISB version, and it seems to suffer the same problem.

My MP4 has some mismatched red and some minor chipping.

I find it ironic that bumblebee was due to too much paint.

I was in Australia. Yeah... I was really impressed by the speed of their service! I was expecting to wait for weeks, but it arrived in a matter of days. It was delivered directly to my hands by express FedEx courier - I had to sign for it and everything. Phwoar!

It was funny, the guy I was speaking to didn't realise that I wasn't in Japan. It was only when he asked me where I lived - expecting me to tell him which prefecture - that I said I was in Australia and he was like, sounding like he nearly fell of his chair, オーストラリア?!? He was also really apologetic (and you just know that they're bowing at you repeatedly on the other end of the phone)... I thought that if he'd felt any more ashamed that he might kneel into Seiza and commit Harakiri. Eep!
