    I'm on my way...

If they were doing it when I was there last December and I'd known about it, I would have checked it out.
Sorry dirge, it would have been more important...

Oh they've been doing it for a few years now. I just never thought about it until it flashed up on my Facebook. Their stuff tastes pretty good too. Even a normal bacon and egg roll ruins your appetite for the rest of the day it's so big.

    You know you want one

I would if I could... but for reasons unknown, Australia's 10th largest city doesn't have an airport, and the Illawarra Region (would be 7th largest city if counted as a "city" like the Sunshine Coast is) has an airport big enough to handle 737s, but doesn't have non-charter passenger flights from any of the airlines since 2008.

Wollongong has about 282,000 people, while the Illawarra region has about 457,000 people, making it bigger than the capital cities of Canberra, Hobart and Darwin.
It is also close in size to the population of the Gold Coast, which is of similar distance to a capital city... and yet the Gold Coast has a very active airport, including international flights.

Cities that are SMALLER that have regular flight services by one or more of Qantas, Virgin, Jetstar, Tiger, Qantaslink...
    Hobart (216,000)
    Townsville (172,000)
    Cairns (143,000)
    Darwin (132,000)
    Toowoomba (110,000)
    Launceston (86,000)
    Albury-Wodonga (85,000)
    Mackay (82,000)
    Rockhampton (78,000)
    Bundaberg (70,000)
    Gladstone (44,000)

Hell, even Mudgee with a population under 10,000 has a regular passenger plane service, flying 3-6 times a day between there and Sydney.
It is really weird... and would be a great vote-winner at state and federal elections to promise to build/upgrade one.

The reason QantasLink stopped was that no-one was using it. For the prices, it was cheaper to drive/train/limo to Mascot than to catch a plane.
