    Default R.I.P. Casey Kasem

The voice of Bluestreak, Cliffjumper, Dr. Arkeville and Teletraan I in G1 has passed away.

From Daughter Announces Casey Kasem’s Death: ‘We Are Heartbroken’

"Top 40 legend Casey Kasem died Sunday morning at age 82.

Kasem’s daughter Kerri posted a statement on her Facebook page announcing her father’s passing.

“Early this Father’s Day morning, our dad Casey Kasem passed away surrounded by family and friends,” the statement reads. “Even though we know he is in a better place and no longer suffering, we are heartbroken.”

Kasem was battling advanced Parkinson’s disease at the time of his death."
I remember him as the voice of America's Top 40 countdown show. His voice acting career was secondary to me.
Which brings us to where we are today...

That's a little more Gen1 lost (Bluestreak, Cliffjumper, Dr Archeville, Teletran 1).

It's been a bitter few months for him, with his family fighting over him - his children wanting to adhere to his wishes of not being kept on life-support, and his second wife wanting him kept alive by hiding him in another part of the country... ending up with a judge needing to rule in favour of his wishes, leading to the removal of the feeding tube 3 days ago.
Now the fighting over his estate begins... at least he wont see any of that.

Sad indeed. I only recently found out he was the voice of several TF characters when I joined this board.

I remember him at the host of America's Top 40 radio show.

    R.I.P

For some reason I always remember when he is on the radio in Ghostbusters talking about how they caught a ghost in a night club.

How very sad As others have said, I remember him more for American Top 40 and the voice of Shaggy on Scooby Doo.

A big part of my childhood has been lost but his memory will forever live on. RIP.

Same here, B. I was only watching Ghostbusters last week or so.
    Rest in peace, Casey.
