Default TF5 world premiere in London June 18th

Just three days before the movie opens up across America, the world premiere screening will be held in London, which makes sense, since there is a big British theme to this one.

The location is Leicester Square on Sunday June 18th, and there should be a number of the cast and crew there for the media and fans to see on the red carpet.

Looks like the American "red carpet" premiere should be happing in Chicago at an IMAX theatre on June 20th (just a day before the new release date of the 21st).

This is according to the IMAX competition conditions for North Americans to win a trip for two to the event, and spending 4 days/3 nights in Chicago. Although, according to the condition of the competition, they are only giving the winner two nights accommodation in Chicago... so I'm not sure what happens for the third night, or if they made an error there.

Transformers: The Last Knight is scheduled for theatrical release on June 21, 2017. The Premiere, if any, is anticipated to occur on June 20, 2017, but the specific date is subject to change. Nothing set forth herein shall be construed to require Sponsor to hold a premiere of Transformers: The Last Knight at any particular time, or at all. Once the Winner’s guest is designated, he/she may not be substituted, except at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. Transformers: The Last Knight is not yet rated by the Motion Picture Association of America. If the Winner is unable to participate in the Trip during the dates set forth by Sponsor above, the Prize will be forfeited in its entirety. In the event that the Premiere does not or cannot take place as scheduled or at all, for reasons included but not limited to scheduling conflicts, cancellations, postponement, or for any other reason, then in lieu of the Trip, the Winner will receive the remaining components, if any, of the Prize, which shall constitute full satisfaction of Sponsor’s Prize obligation to the Winner, and no other or additional compensation will be awarded.

One (1) Grand Prize winner will receive one (1) 4-day/3-night trip for two (2) people to Chicago, Illinois (the “Trip”) (Approximate Retail Value $4,000). The Trip includes round trip economy air transportation for two (2) from the major airport nearest winner’s residence to Chicago, Illinois, two (2) nights hotel accommodations (based on single room, double occupancy), ground transportation to/from area airport and hotel, one (1) gift card in an amount equal to US$500 and two (2) tickets to the premiere screening of the motion picture Transformers: The Last Knight (the “Premiere”)

Okay... now we have an advance screening to the world premiere, occurring in China on June 13th - five days before the "Worldwide (except China) Premiere" in London.

This is the same city as the fan-vote, so June 13th must be the date of the 10th Anniversary Fan Event, culminating in an advance screening of the Movie.
Fans in China have a chance to be at the screening, by submitting an essay about their favourite Transformers characters.

Damn it's getting close now... tomorrow is the world first screening in China. Which means it should be finished (or he'll do some minor adjustments after this screening, with five days until the next screening in London).

The China screening took place yesterday evening, and boy was it done with big fanfare... at a large stadium and giant stage to present the movie and the special guests (Isabella Moner, Laura Haddock, Josh Duhamel, Michael Bay) to a very large crowd (probably not to see the movie though, as there looked to be way too many).

There is a video on youtube that goes for about 50 minutes, and it is done in English and Chiinese, so it's easier to watch than the recent MCON video.

The host notes that it is the "World Premiere", which makes the London "World Premiere" just an advance screening now.
(the host is very good with English and Chinese... alternating quickly between both to say everything twice)

At about 6 minutes there is a trailer that has a couple of new bits in it, and then a sit down interview with the guests.

At about 30 minutes they then have three guys brought onto stage who are "super" fans, who might have won a competition to be guests.

At about 38 minutes was a live performance of a song that looks to be this movie's theme-song, called Torches.

The guests were then waved off, and another song followed by a boy-band group... which closed out the show.

(it was raining during the event, so they got a bit wet, and needed umbrellas)

The location has been announced - The Civic Opera House on the Chicago River... and the press release seems to be promoting the city more than the movie, so there must have been some bidding by Chicago to have the World American premiere held there.

And it notes that Valovline is one of the three sponsors... so maybe some Valvotrons will be given away on the night.

The world premiere in London started about 3 hours ago, and the "red" blue carpet pre-screening event went for a little over two hours, so they are probably still watching the movie as I post this.
The two hour video of the blue carpet event, with some of the stars, the director, and some of the movie vehicles, can be watched here. It may be posted up on the official movie facebook page later, which might be easier to watch, as I had problems viewing the video on that particular site with my browser.
The event looked like a lot of fun, and took me back to a similar, but much smaller, event in Sydney for the 2007 Movie ten years ago.

The last of the three "premiere" screenings happens in Chicago in the next day (on the 20th over there, which would probably be early tomorrow morning here), and a giant floating stage has been built, and towed next to the Lyric Opera house, where the screening will take place.

Obviously to keep the barge as light as possible, the three vehicles they have on it are all inflatable - Optimus, Barricade and Drift.

There are photos and video clips here... it would have been a sight to see that things slowly making its way along the river in the middle of Chicago.

Marketing cost for this movie is going to be huge, with three big premieres instead of the usual one.
