This would be the one then.

It's a Hasbro 1985 release and not the Chinese 1990's reissue so IMO it is worth close to the asking price. I wouldn't say that the box is C8 though considering the flap crease and edge wear.

    Good luck with your offer.

FYI - To insert a link to a website just use the globe / paperclip icon.

EDIT: Just noticed you worked out the link thing

Did I just pay too much?

$112.50 + postage (Oz seller) for a MISB Takara Re-issue TFC Hound?

I'm craphouse at estimating aftermarket prices, but some things you may want to take into consideration:
    1. This toy originally retailed for 3000JPY ($36) in 2004
    2. Import stores in Australia, even at inflated import prices, would've sold it for about $65-75

There's currently a MISB reissue Hound on auction here with 5 days to go, if you wanna see what the final bid ends up being. <shrug>

Well back in 2004, you could have picked up quite a lot of TFs cheaper too Gok!

The auction that you have linked to specifies shipping in North America only, so even if the guy will post to Australia, it'll be in the realms of $30+ for postage.

There are a few MIB (used) ones (from sellers that will post to Oz) listed starting at about $100 and the cheapest MISB one from a completed listing was $90USD + $45 postage.

I've pretty much given up on finding a MISB C8.5+ original G1 Hound for a reasonable price (sub-$400), so I guess this guy will have to do (at least for now).

That's an okay price for a TFC Hound. They were not expensive when they retailed (got mine for SGD$35), but that's a moot point because none of us have a time machine.

Back around '06, there was this Melbourne seller consistently over a year selling TFCs for an average of AU$60-75 each, plus postage would have been $85 thereabouts. It's now 5 years from that and you paid about $25+ more. Pretty reasonable to me. Also gotta factor in the point that the TFC, was the only reissue of Hound. Never been reissued again. As close to G1 as you can get.

BTW, G1 Hounds were never cheap. Before the reissue, one'd be lucky to get a complete Hound for under US$150 (this guy has so many parts; jerry can and spare wheels were usually lost; machine gun usually broken... amongst other common issues). Boxed Hounds are usually more than twice that amount.

All in all, good going and a worthwhile price to pay for a slice of childhood.
