    Default Other sporting events

I didn't want to make a thread for a specific sport. So I'm making a generic one that doesn't fit in when I did a search.

Boxing Superfight - fight that everyone wants to see

Pacquiao vs Mayweather May 3 - coming to an RSL next to you.

    Hype

    Fight of the Century

I'm looking forward to this. Although if you read the wiki about the negotiations it basically spells out everything wrong with boxing. All the contracts and stipulations... It should just be two guys who think they are the best and whoever wins is the better man. That being said I hope Mayweather stands and fights and doesn't run for 12 rounds.

It's disappointing that most sports bars won't actually show this fight.

Watching ABC news this morning and the fight wasn't actually news. It was Pacquiao's plea to Indonesian president to save a Filipina on death row with the Aussies. The sports reporter had a rough idea that the fight was this weekend but certainly not important enough as an international sport news event.

As a small country with a large population, Pacquiao is really fighting for the nation. Unlike Mayweather who is fighting for himself and his legacy as a boxer - claim "Best pound for pound".

Most former boxing champs choose Mayweather to win.

Hand picked opponents with hand picked judges and claims to be the best ever

I hope he loses but he will probably run to a decision.

I'll start watching sport on TV again when Shaolin Soccer gets its own leauge:

Now THAT is what sporting events should look like!

Plus they cancelled the second season of Legends Football Leauge after they could not secure televised rights (http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/new...-1227078712532). Like Shaolin Soccer for soccer, it could have brought American-styled football to prominence in our fair land. I certainly would have watched it

I suppose people perfer to watch guys in tiny shorts running round an oval

I ended up watching the Big Fight at Club Marconi - it was so full! I heard they had to turn people away because there wasn't any space left to fit people in.

As for the result - disappointed, but Manny still fought hard against a very defensive Mayweather.
Final score should have been closer but ultra bias didn't help him. The commentator after the fight just confirmed how much the 'system' was for Mayweather.

While it's not Shaolin Soccer, Sepak Takraw comes pretty close imo. Pretty awesome sport.
