I don't usually post in this thread (because I generally don't care if people know what I'm listening to ) but that was...........interesting.........

If y'all are interested in heavy stuff from Japan (that's slightly less gimmicky) I also recommend Sigh, they've ranged from black/thrash/death/progressive metal with classical/jazz/aerobics music elements thrown in. One of my faves:

And also, there's few better way to spend 29 minutes than with Art Of Life by X Japan

Agreed. And it was such an apt choice song for them to finish (what turned out to be the first phase of...) their career as a band with.

I came across Babymetal the other day (they were listed in the top 10 of a download site that I frequent) and wondered what the hell is this. I checked out some of their vids on youtube and I'm still wondering the same. The only chick metal band that I've ever really been into was Kittie. THOSE girls knew how to shred

Check out LadyBaby then too. It's bizarre in its awesomeness too.

Currently listening to (something which feels old school now) Arcturus' Deamon Painter. Great live, just wish they'd come back here again. Really nice blokes too, and the singer stands way tall over me hahah

I'm not a big Triple J listener, but do they usually play Japanese music?

Personally, I love it ) were singles, so you can have a look at Youtube to see if they interest you.
But I reckon if you like Metal Resistance, then you will like their first album.

Wow. All I can think when I see that is it's like One Direction and Avril Lavinge watched a few Slipknot videos and decided to have a crack at metal.

    Seriously.

    Greatest. Music. Video. Eva.

Cowboys, robots, unicorns, karate, raunch, laser pistols. I think that covers it.

Keeping with the Japanese theme, I think Mary's Blood do a better job musically.

Lately I've taken a break from metal by listening to "Trust in me" by Scarlett Johanssen. She does a chilling job playing the Machiavellian Kaa.
