Sentinel pen Optimus Prime pen released & pics

The first of the Sentinel Pens, actually called Optimus Prime instead of Convoy, was released in Japan two days ago, and a gallery can be seen here of it in-hand.

It is still available on Amazon Japan (about AU$45!), but it is classed as a toy, so you'd need to get someone there to help, or a shipping forwarder. Or buy from a secondary source.

Note though, it is not produced or released by TakaraTomy - it is a licensed product... it is rare for licensed products to be transformable, so maybe there was some involvement by TakaraTomy in the design?

The black version has a release date of October 31st, and possibly the white version as well.

Bigbad has him bfor $54, which is steep but considering JP only is fair enough

He definitely looks very nice, but that's a VERY expensive pen. Not that he'd be in "alt" mode very often....
