Default BigW sale March 24Mon -30Sun.

Big W catalogue out today, with next weeks sale items for Transformers.

    Ultimate Bumblebee - $76.73 (save $12)
    Leader Class - $76.73 (save $12)
Allspark Power Deluxe (cylinder packaging, but could include regular deluxes) - $18.88 (save $5)
    Legends 2-pack - $8.62 (save $3)

Looks like they are pricing their Ultimate and Leader class at the same price at BigW. That's a fairly good price for Bumblebee if you don't already have it.

    is ultimate bumblebee worth it?

I loved the movie. I want more movie toys. Is it justifiable?

I certainly don't think so. There should be a few good threads here discussing it. If not, there's definitely some on the old board.

Here's my review that I've migrated from the old boards.

My answer would be a resounding no. I do possess one for purely size and display purposes. The packaging is pretty good.

I need a cheap Brawl to repaint. Looks like this will be it.

And yes Thanatos, they do do layby for a $2 fee for 10 weeks IIRC

If he was around $50, then I'd say yes, for anything over $100, hell no, for anything inbetween, it really depends on the person. Overall though I agree mostly with STL's review he linked to earlier.

Robot mode is large, but rather crummy, has balance issues, is almost a statue and the electronic gimmicks are more or less terrible, the sound grabs last for about 6 seconds, and the Talking grabs are pretty damn terrible.

Transformation is craptacular and annoying more than anything else.

However alt mode is big and beautiful, the sound grab gimmick in alt mode works a treat, the increasing noise as you move the figure faster, the horn, the screeching tyres when you slam on the brakes, all work great (plus if you leave him in neutral for a while there is a nice surprise sound grab for you). He looks fairly alright in alt mode, but can be a paint o look decent with his doors and hood wanting to pop out of line all the time. His windows are blacked out to hide the giant battery pack and electronic hidden where his inner car details should be.

I got mine for $100 a while back, and I have always felt that I paid about $30-$40 too much for him, Personally I think that for the same price you are much better off with Movie Leader Prime.

If you really love Bumblebee, and want a figure with a great alt mode with a crummy robot mode, he is your bot.

I think it is a good figure, and for its size, $77 is pretty good. It is simple, but has electronics, and isn't really meant to be a playable figure with the rest of the toyline. It is playable on its own though, like a doll or robo-sapian. Keep that in mind when considering why you want it, or what you plan to do with it.
