Always remove batteries. I had them leak even on new toys.

Unless they are in a toy you play with often always remove batteries and regularly check the ones you don't remove.

I do every 3 months, but I only keep batteries in two toys so it's not a huge time investment.

For those curious they are in my Rescue Bots Optimus Primal (the big electronic T-rex) and my Power Rangers Legacy Dragon Dagger, cause sometimes I just need to hear that awesome theme music.

My TFTM Leaders were left with batteries (they were kept MISB) and just opened them a few weeks ago. I was afraid most of them leaked as the electronics aint working anymore but happy to see they all just drained without leakage. But unfortunately my DOTM Leader Ironhide was not lucky, battery leaked and corroded the negative spring terminal and came off. May be a few more days and Ironhide would have corroded just like in the movie

Now all that is left to check are LR buttons from FoC Voyager Grimlock and one more I cant remember

    Yes...

    US MP Grimlock - 2xLR44 I

That means that it has two button batteries, and they were included with the toy.

It is for the best you don't open them
I was a purely MISB collector but moving to OZ forced me to open most of the stuff...anyway just checked my FoC Grimlock battery dead and starting to leak. Will have to check it again as i dont have fresh button cells atm
