Ah. That makes a lot more sense. I didn't realise you were referring to another line.

I tried a pair of the Infrared AM90s the other day... they just don't do it for me - I'm just not a fan of AM in general. I do want those Persian Violet BW's dropping in January, however

to those who collect them, what is it about sneakers that interests you enough to want to collect them? to me they're just things on my feet.. although i do have a few pairs of volleys cause they are sweet and cheap

Despite owning numerous pairs, I wouldn't call myself a collector... since I _wear_ all of my sneakers. As for why I have so many, if I like them enough, I buy them (:

For me sneakers is apart of a culture i follow (bboying aka breakdancing) therefore its about looking 'fresh'. But I also enjoy the vivid colours and the way they look. New sneaker smell also smells nice

Thought I would share my collection so dirge doesn't have all the glory

ahhh ok i get it.. i was assuming that you had huge amounts that were just on display or in storage.. if you wear most or all of them then really its no different to buying new clothes.. i get it now

For someone with 40 or so pairs of basketball boots, I found myself in the rather ironic position of having to buy a pair of sneakers yesterday...

I have a dodgy knee with an old injury that flares up every now and then. Yesterday, I was wearing a pair of shoes with no shock absorption, and had quite a lot of walking in front of me. The right knee sure let me know what it thought of this situation, with each step becoming slowly more painful.

So... without the option of changing into shoes with proper shock absorption, I bit the bullet and bought a pair of Air Max (I'm not really a fan of them, but the Air Soles are all about shock absorption). They did the trick, the pain in my knee pretty much evaporated once I put these on:

Two different people in the store commented positively on my choice, which was nice (one I actually knew, the other was a complete stranger), but I was just glad to be able to walk

Neil, they were $180. The specific pair I bought are actually limited edition (I was near a store that specialises in those, so yeah...), but you can buy the same model (Air Max 90) for around $180 in Footlocker etc. Less on eBay for more generic release colourways.
