I had to rewind a few updates that seemed to trigger it. It didn't help that I didn't have a windows recovery disc handy.
On to your problem...I don't think dead pixels can be brought back.

Hooking up a computer and playing an epileptic inducing video of flashing solid primary colours for a while can sometimes fix stuck pixels, though if they're truly dead, there's. Of much that can be done
Google Chrome has stopped working for me. I get the error message: This application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe

I can't access Google from IE. Is there a way to reinstall Chrome without needing to download anything (or use the internet at all)? i.e. is there a "reinstall" command file? If so, where would I find it?
IE is just hopeless. I've installed Mozilla Firefox which is working just fine for me now.
You could have used your phone via your home wireless to download the install file as an alternative, then copied it across to your pc.
you could also use any other search engine if google was failing on IE

I was using Bing, but all the links for Chrome kept on pointing to Google's site, leading back to my original problem.
So I'm looking at buying a budget 3D printer. Specifically, this one:

I'm somewhat concerned about the power supply though. Would I just be able to use a standard PC power cable with that 220V power supply, or would I need to use either the USA or EU cable with a step-down-converter or similar?
I tried asking GearBest, they were no real help.
Which brings us to where we are today...
