I've found the US to AU pricing seems to differ a little from lego line/ series, sometimes a licensed US$ 11 (or thereabouts) set goes for AU$22 or even $29 here.

Wish they'd had the Smaug set, I'd like to get someone whose seen it in hand give a reason why it might cost so much.

The Witch-King Battle (the smallest set, with 3 minifigs) was $22. I think The Battle of 5 Armies was $99? The Lake Town one was inbetween somewhere.

Star wars sandcrawler will be in the big w catalogue this thurday...It will be an exclusive for $398.00. $50 cheaper than the Lego Shop...I'm half way through mine, and so far its a pretty cool build.
