Default Toy Review - Titans Return Mindwipe

    MINDWIPE
    Series – Titans Return
    Size/class - Deluxe
    New/remould/redeco - New
    Wave - 2
    Released here – October 2016
    Approximate Retail Price - $25
    Approximate Size - 14.5cm
    Allegiance - Decepticon
    Alt-mode – Mechanical bat
    Main Features/Gimmicks – Headmaster
Main Colours – black, purple, bronze
Main Accessories – small gun, large gun/shield, "Vorath" Titan Master

Too buggered to type a review, so here are a few pics and thoughts.

It's interesting how he has little faux wings in robot mode to make said robot mode look G1 show-like, but it's actually his legs which fold out to become the alt mode's actual wings. Mindwipe's bat wings are articulated well enough so that he can do this:

    "I am the night!"

Which makes Mindwipe look extra spooky when he's stalking his prey...

    Comparison with G1:

Typical of Hasbro, Vorath severely lacks paint ops which makes him look like a cheap KO. Otherwise this is the Mindwipe that Gotham deserves.

    I like him overall.

The shield on the arm is a bit annoying with the overly-long peg, so it sticks out a bit far, and it looks a bit weird attached in Bat mode too.

But I love how retro-80s lame he looks...Hasbro really ran with the ridiculousness of the 3 Decepticon Headmasters here, and I really appreciate it. The 7 original Headmasters lined up together look amazing.

I am in agreement with these comments.

On top of this I really love the sculpting overall and especially on the brown soft plastic. The plastic colours are also vibrant and spot on. Another work of art!

Robot mode is meh. Animal mode is where it's at.

He's the cool spooky mind control guy i remember from watching The Rebirth as a kid and being jealous of my friend for owning. Therefore, I like him.

The only gripe I have is (like others here) with the robot mode. I find his legs and feet too bulky and give him a cumbersome clownish look but at least he's not BH Shockwave. Overall a good Transformer.

I felt a bit underwhelmed with him. Yes the transformation is ingenious but i did not find it fun. Too many rubbery plastic bits with hinges that i do not enjoy moving. Perhaps if the bat ears and small wings werent so sharp they could have used normal plastic for them?

Also, i struggle to find a good use for that shield in either mode.

Agreed on the shield. It doesn't fit well on his arm, or in his hand and as a tail for the bat, it's way too large. Currently I have him holding it like a tonfa in some kind of fore arm shield thing.

I think I am less annoyed by the rubbery plastic, but he does have a bit waaaayyy too much on him.

I'm impressed that the bat mouth can open and close. I like him, but not as much as I should. That stupid tail!

And yet the poll shows 100% of people feel that this toy is worth buying. I'm assuming that you also cast a "Yes" vote.
