The stand alone Bumblebee movie has been announced by Bay to officially be a prequel, focus on his character and be aimed at a younger audience.

As much as this sucks for adults, means I might be able to take my son to see it

I agree it is good if it's aimed at the younger audience. The first movie is the only one I allow my son to watch.

I think all 4 movies are already for juvenile audiences.

Thought that myself, but didn't want to be the one to type it, so thanks Smint

Agreed. And even then, not necessarily for young children because of the use of coarse language, sexualisation etc. I still cannot believe that AoE used the F-word and had that god-awful stupid R+J scene... Rogue One on the other hand manages to be a spectacularly superior film that doesn't resort to the use of bad language or sexual references, and I can happily show to my child.

Transformers is primarily a TOY franchise. Why can't we have more family-friendly movies?

If you have a problem with a child watching a movie because it had a "rude" word in it (or a rule about minor/adult relationships children wouldn't really understand), but don't have a problem with the violence and death in the same movie... I just don't understand. To me it just seems some of the puritarian aspects of US culture are rubbing off.
