Something that the Transformers sites seem to have missed is the news from 9/9/14 that the Blu-ray of Transformers Age of Extinction will be the first ever home release of movie with the Dolby Atmos audio format.

Atmos has been in the theatres for a couple of years now and is a 22 channel surround sound system that has multiple speakers on the ceiling creating a richer surround experience. The home theatres version is come this year and is much simpler and works in a 5.1.2 setup (7 speakers and a sub). You will need a new AV Receiver or Pre-Pro and new speakers to listen to Atmos, but your current Blu-ray player will play it if it outputs bit-stream audio. If you can't put speakers on the ceiling Dolby has a solution, upward firing speakers in the fronts and surrounds that bounce sounds like helicopters flying overhead off your ceiling making it seem to be overhead.

Atmos is going to take the place of 7.1 HD Audio in the future so AOE has the honour of kicking off the new format.
