Were g1 transformers available in Australia in 1984? Or did Australia miss the boat and get their first delivery right after Christmas '84 like New Zealand?

I got Brawn (and my brother got Huffer) in late '84. My mother was dragging us along to watch some piano concerto that neither of us really wanted to watch, so on the way we stopped by HobbyCo (or Uncle Petes?) and grabbed these toys. It was definitely a small independent toy store and not one of the majors. I don't recall seeing any of them at majors until '85.

I have to defer to other long-timers for that answer, as I didn't see them until mid 1985 at school, as I didn't get to go to stores that had toys at that age.

Thanks, looks like the same deal here, independents could have got their stock direct or from stores overseas. The first waves were so popular in the US they restocked first.

In fact NZ were so short stocked of Primes, a whole lot came from france. This is why you see those 'french' primes floating around.

Now if only someone had save some junk mail from back then

Do we have anything on whether there will be any more Generations 3-packs, like the Specialists Autobot and Decepticon sets? I'd love a Lambo set (Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Red Alert) and Datsun set (Prowl, Bluestreak, Smokescreen) set to round off the Autobot cars.

Does anyone have any experience with removing rust spots from metal parts of G1 toys?
Things like wheel rims, etc. I know you can't use lighter fluid or anything like that, but is there something that won't harm the plastic?

Thinking outside the box, have you tried using a small piece of wire wool? I Use it for removing rust on my bicycle and it is effective. With a small, targeted amount you could get at the spots without scratching the plastic.

Does steel wool still keep the "shine" of the metal? I always assumed steel wool would dull the shine? Maybe I'll try on a junker first

Hi everyone, i think i saw this answered somewhere on the forums, but can't for the life of me remember the answer or even remember where it was.

But a friend of mine purchased what he thinks is the reissue Grimlock and Reissue Hasbro Constructicon gift set, are these both knockoffs? I have a feeling that they are
