Thanks for the warm welcome guys, I'm from the western suburbs of Melbourne, out in the desolate flatlands where the bogans roam.

I'll put up some photos of my small collection of TFs, some from my childhood and some recently bought/re-bought (damn little b@stard Nuno stealing my Sandstorm when I was 6!)

I got into Transformers when I was 5, thanks to being home from school and seeing a midday rerun of TF:TM. I had a couple of transformers before that but never saw the cartoon until then.

Unfortunately, being born in 1985 I missed out on buying any of the original G1s (apart from a Rodimus Prime I must have received as an xmas gift when I was WAAAAAY too young for it) so I had to scrounge what I could from older friends (including a much older family friend who gave me his entire G1 collection, small as it was)

Luckily though, we had the gold boxed Euro Classics reissue in Oz. I loved them all, even though the quality pretty crappy compared to the originals. Never seen so many rusty screws in my life!

The one I always wanted was Hot Rod though. Back before the internet, you just couldn't find these things. You had to go from friend to friend, asking if anyone had one. The first one I saw was missing the hood/head part, so I just had to imagine how cool it must have looked when complete. I must have been at least 9 or 10 before one of my friends found a complete Hot Rod at the local Op Shop. I think I traded him my Euro Classics Wheeljack for it. The same Hot Rod now sits proudly on my shelf, a little worn around the edges but still looking super cool

Here's my 3 faves, a collection just completed the other week with an unbroken Blurr:

I thought the Classic reissues were pretty well made... even though some of the carded reissues were retooled without rub sign indents (and given regular faction stickers ilo rub signs). Rust can happen to screws on reissues or originals... just depends on how well you take care of the toys and avoid exposing them to moisture I guess. I haven't noticed any rusty screws on any of my G1 originals or reissues (Classic or otherwise). The only G1 TFs I've had rust with was a junker Pipes, junker Long Haul and KO Alan (t'was a gift) -- they were all aquarium decorations.
