Unhappy I just purchased a Takara Transformers E-Hobby Reissue Black G1 Megatron from ebay

I just recently just purchased a Takara Transformers E-Hobby Reissue Black G1 Megatron of from ebay, and the item is from Queensland and ready to be shipped to Sydney NSW. And I'm wondering do I need a permit in order to get my Megatron or just simply does nothing and wait for my Megatron to arrive. Thanks

You are legally required to have a permit and comply with safe storage requirements. Failure to do so means that you accept a risk of seizure and incineration of the toy.

See this link for more information regarding the legal requirements for owning and importing prohibited replica gun Transformers in NSW.

There is a legal obligation, but that's totally up to you (I don't think most in NSW bother anymore because of the cost). It comes down to risk.... keep it hidden from sight inside your home and you should be okay. I can't imagine the police raiding collectors for them.... unless there is a run of crimes with fake guns.

If it's already in the country you'll be fine. End of story.

There are still domestic border customs that perform checks, but yeah, the risk is most likely even smaller than international customs. As the flowchart says, a small risk exists and it's up to individual collectors as to whether or not they are willing to accept this risk.

So as a slight aside but still on-topic... how many collectors here have done this purely because of gunformers?

Personally the closest i'll ever get to a gun is a Nerf blaster and i have no desire to fire a real one, nor do gunformers appeal to me, i'm just curious the lengths fans go to for their collections

I had an existing Firearms licence before I got MP05... so it made my life easy
