He really needed to go back to where it all began, the later movies went, too commercial I think. Well, number 4 anyway. Ditto with AVP

Anyway, I won a double pass to a free preview screening at Knox on Monday night (Aug 10) at 7pm, so if someone wants to come see it with me, let me know.

Edit: It's being shown before the US release of the movie which is cool, but it means no cameras/recording allowed, so maybe leave your phone at home.
You do the Myspace Black Curtain thingy?
I did that for Watchmen, Dark Knight, and Star Trek. I missed this one though, I forgot about it until the next day

No it was a competition on the Village Movie Club newsletter. No one seems interested in coming with me I may need to repost elsewhere.

But even better than that, they are doing "Machete" as a movie haha.
You know, the "fake" trailer at the beginning of Grindhouse (Planet Terror/Deathproof)

Makes me wonder if Rob Zombie will actually do Werewolf Woman of the SS...
It was Craptacular! Even better/worse than I expected.

Bring on 'Machete' and 'Werewolf Woman of the SS'!

Yeah, I've been keeping an eye on it hoping it's good. The short trailers I saw made it look good but the longer preview had me thinking it might be too politically orientated - segregation and media bias...

Let us know if it's worth seeing.
Which brings us to where we are today...

I think it's worth seeing. I really enjoyed it and have been thinking about scenes from it a lot. (One scene in particular really got to me)

There's a lot of politically orientated content (not so much media bias) but that's kind of the point. These are illegal aliens who happen to actually be aliens.

The special effects aren't perfect, but this isn't a huge budget movie and they work well enough to tell the story.

It's perhaps a little uneven, each third of the movie seems very different from the rest, but all up it tells a very compelling tale, and is the best original sci-fi film I've seen in a long time.

I actually really enjoyed it And that's a rare thing for me

One of the more origional heroes I've seen for a while - even if it was a rather quick change.
