Movie time line - according to events in the Movie ONLY
(because writers Orci & Kurtzman stated at BotCon 2008 or 2009 that, 'if it didn't happen on screen, it didn't happen')
In other words, if the comics were never written, this is how people who didn't read them would see the timeline for the 3 Movies.
Anything explained in the comics that wasn't in the Movies, was not something planned by the Movie writers, it was just authorised by Hasbro (there are no story credits to the Movie Writers in the IDW comic prequels and sequels).
The movies are written without any consideration or allowance for a comic universe, and it has been mentioned that neither party interacts with the other directly (they go through Hasbro). It is IDW that later creates comic stories to explain all the plot holes, and then has to worry about the plots of future movies that could end up contradicting IDW stories.
As such, concepts like the Ark, 1969 Apollo launch, and the death or resurrection of characters, have been in IDW comics before they were contradicted or 'used for the first time' in a later Movie... which might make it worthwhile to consider the Movie Comics as an alternate Universe to the on-screen Movie Universe.

The Fallen wants to turn it on, which would destroy all life on the planet.
The other Primes sacrifice themselves with the Matrix (a key for the harvester) to prevent The Fallen using it.
Several Seekers are sent to Earth to find the Matrix (and never found it after all that time)
(Fallen Returns to Cybertron?)

The Fallen (leaves Cybertron?) in the 'Nemesis' for some unknown reason, which is full of hatchlings (very conjectural, as nothing is named or explained when the ship is shown in TF2)
The 'Nemesis' crashes on a moon of a ringed gas giant (possibly Saturn).

Sentinel Prime develops spacebridge technology to restore Cybertron

Sam is found to be the key to the Cube

Shockwave and his Driller, Laserbeak and Dreads are first noticed by Autobots
Megatron is a reclusive hermit, not even wanting to repair his head wound from 2009.
Decepticons want the Autobots to resurrect Sentinel Prime, so let them find out about the Ark
Sentinel Prime is awoken, and has with him the controlling pillar to his spacebridge
Sentinel Prime reveals his alliance with Megatron, and opens his spacebridge to the Moon.
The Decepticon army hiding on the moon comes to Earth.
Ironhide, Soundwave, Starscream, Laserbeak, Megatron, Sentinel Prime, Barricade, Shockwave, the Driller and the Dreads are all killed.
Cybertron is destroyed as the Spacebridge collapses while it was half-way through.

Sometime between 2007-2009 Sam gets his shag on...

2009 - Make Up Break Up Potential Marriage Proposal by Mikaela. Sam gets hit on (both emtionally and physically) by the decepti-hussey. Break up back together and in the end Sam dies, Mikayla cries declares undying love for Sam...he revives...declares love back

Sometime between 2009-2011 despite the discovery of an Alien Race, blood sweat & tears Sam & Mikayla Break up...Carly Steps on the scene

It looked as though Cybertron was destroyed as it seemed to be ripped to pieces. If not all of cybertron then a large chunk was torn apart.

Maybe Mikaela got bored of Sam obsessing over being a hero.

The planetary structure itself was seen collapsing in on itself, but I guess without someone actually saying so in the movie itself, anything is possible later as an explanation as to why it survived.
(we already saw a large portion sheered off when the portal was closed the first time - so I guess the writers didn't want a big slice of metallic planet left sitting next to Earth at the end of the movie as a loose end)

According to Orci and Kurtzman on the commentary track on the ROTF Blu-ray all 3 of the Arcee Triplets are killed in the battle (we do see two of them killed on screen). I'd say that qualifies them as officially dead in 2009.

Also in DOTM they make several references to the fact the events we are watching are taking place 3 years after the Transformers became officially known about by the public which happened in ROTF when The Fallen made his speech and asked for Sam to be turned over. So that puts DOTM in 2012 not 2011.

Since the above is the 'on-screen' Movie Universe, here is a link to the 'comics' movie universe - which is a timeline of as many non-conflicting Movie comics by IDW, UK, JP.

It's an interesting read if you can't find or afford the comics (or just dont have time to read them all), and tries to expand or create explanations for elements in the movie.
