    Default Earth magnets

So i've been experimenting with magnets for kitbashing, a new way to attach weapons.

My first success using 20c magnets I got from the hobby shop worked okay, not too bad. Could have been better.

So I went out and got these.

Anyone know much about them? Aside from them being bloody small and bloody powerful (they will work great on TF's) I feel the urge to relocate them from the house down the back yard into the chook house because I fear their strength that much.

Is my fear crazy or should I actually be concerned about their strength in the house? (Given there's all sorts of electronic stuff everywhere)

They look pretty impressive. I can think of a bunch of uses for them... Definitely worth some more research.

Rare earth magnets are commonly used in computer hard drives to work the actuator that the heads are attached to. Scavage some old drives if you want to cheap it.

Just don't sit them anywhere else you'd sit an unsheilded magnet such as tvs, phones, etc.

And yea, be careful to not get your fingers inbetween them, and keep away from kids.

They'll be fine on your toys, just be careful about thin plastic, basically be mindful of the forces you'll need to put on parts to remove them when the magnets are drawing each other.

Also, you could make a pretty powerful magnetic missile launcher.
